Adhesive coating

In recent years, gift wrap has come under fire for being environmentally unfriendly. How long does it last? Just a few seconds before it ends up in the bin! What if you opted for a more durable gift wrap that can be used again and again?

Step by step, discover how to customize a simple shoebox, using Luminis Films glitter coating, to make a beautiful reusable gift box!

For this project, you will need :

A shoebox
Luminis Films glitter adhesive coating (1 or 2 different colours)
A pen
A rule
A pair of scissors

Step 1:
Measure all sides of your box to make a pattern. To help you in the design of your pattern, don't hesitate to go on the internet, there are plenty of examples.
Once you have taken your measurements, trace the pattern directly onto your glittery adhesive coating.

Step 2:
Do the same for the lid of the box, and vary the colour of the decorative coating to suit your taste!

Step 3:
Once you have traced the 2 patterns, you can cut them out following the contours.

Step 4:
Then simply peel the protective liner off the adhesive. Lay the liner flat and place your box/lid in the centre.

Step 5:
Now all you have to do is fold the sides of the adhesive liner over your box/lid.

Step 6:
For the finishing stage, you will need to fold the sides inside the box/lid. To make this easier, you can bevel the corners so that they fit perfectly inside.

And there you have it! You have in your hands a beautiful box that will contain your Christmas gifts and that will make your loved ones happy.
