A precise tape measure is your best friend when it comes to laying adhesive coverings.

Unlike a simple ruler or a less suitable tool (some people measure with their fingers...), a tape measure allows you to take exact measurements, to the nearest millimetre. And that makes all the difference!

One small miscalculation and you run the risk of ending up with a film that's too short or badly adjusted, which can quickly complicate installation and harm the final result.

When measuring a piece of furniture with several surfaces, don't ignore each face, even if they all look the same to you.

Sometimes we think that everything is symmetrical, but in reality, small deviations of a few centimetres or millimetres can creep in here and there. And these small deviations can quickly have an impact on the installation and rendering of the adhesive coating.

By measuring every surface precisely, you can be sure that everything will run like clockwork, and that the film will fit perfectly into every corner of your furniture. A little effort for a flawless result!

Measuring a door or façade before applying an adhesive coating couldn't be easier!

Take the length and width first. You can plot the results on a sheet as in the video, if that helps.

Then remember to measure the thickness of the surface so that the film covers the edges well. And to be on the safe side, always add at least 2 centimetres more.

This allows you to make a nice return on the edges and prevents the coating from peeling off over time. A little tip that makes all the difference for a clean, long-lasting finish!

1. Pay attention to the direction of the pattern. It can be horizontal or vertical. To change the direction, simplyreverse the height and width. This applies, for example, to wood-effect adhesive coverings, which have a particular direction because of the "grain".
   
   
2. Check your dimensions before ordering. Mistakes can happen, so it's worth checking to avoid unpleasant surprises.
