    Following the installation instructions, it's quite easy to do (although the film was cut to the size of my pane, minus 2 mm on the sides, to avoid having to cut it once in place). In the end, it corresponded to the choice of film ordered for a clear champagne anti-heat glazing. The outside light is not blocked out, and the window is protected from view as long as there is no interior lighting.

    Posé en intérieur (vitrage coulissant en étage élevé) sur un vieux double vitrage, le film fait parfaitement l'affaire et nous avons tout de suite noté la différence au niveau de la chaleur ressentie dans la pièce concernée. Effectivement, cela demande de la patience et minutie pour que le film soit posé parfaitement. J'ai quelques irrégularités sous la forme de petites bulles par endroits, notamment dans les angles mais bon, c'est tout de même tout à fait satisfaisant pour une 1ère fois même si pas parfait à mon goût, je suis tout de même très content. Comme dans tout boulot de ce genre, une bonne préparation du support (vitrage) et travailler avec les bons outils est capital, sinon la moindre petite saleté restée collée ou autre causera inévitablement une bulle.

Detailed description

This very clear solar film offers you the best compromise between performance and transparency. With 66% of solar energy rejected, it allows a maximum of natural light to pass through the glazing fitted. Its specific composition of different metal alloys enables it to combat heat effectively by significantly limiting solar absorption. Thus, this clear solar film almost completely eliminates the risk of thermal shocks when the film is installed indoors.

With little glare, it can be used to cover glass surfaces discreetly. This clear solar film retains visibility and brightness through the equipped glass. Acting as a real heat barrier, this solar anti-uv film filters out ultraviolet and infrared radiation while allowing light to penetrate through the glass surface. It thus controls disturbing heat without reducing optical visibility.

You can enjoy your interior to the full without the heat coming through your windows, thanks to this clear solar film. It's a real heat shield, improving comfort all year round. This champagne solar film is ideal for both private and professional use. It is regularly used on verandas and glazed buildings.

Good to know: glazing with solar film installed indoors can heat up more. To avoid this risk of overheating, we recommend that you apply an equivalent film externally. In addition to limiting the heat on the glazing, this makes the film more efficient.

  • How do I apply window film?

    With a little patience and attention to detail, and by following the installation instructions carefully, you can install your window film yourself. For large surfaces (bay windows, for example), we recommend two people.

  • How many degrees can you gain with heat-shielding film?

    It's very difficult to know exactly how many degrees you'll gain. Many factors come into play: the type of insulation in the house, the type of glass, the size of the panes, the surface area of the house, and so on.

    In general, you can gain up to 5°C in coolness with an anti-heat film.

    Our most effective film, GLASSplus-241x, rejects up to 90% of solar energy. It's an excellent heat barrier to protect your interior.

  • Should metallized film be applied indoors or outdoors?

    We recommend applying a metallized film to the outside of the glass. The film will be more effective, and your glass will be protected from any thermal shock.

    Don't panic: our films are designed to withstand the vagaries of the weather over time.


    If you cannot apply your metallized film on the outside, you can apply it on the inside in the following cases:

    • Non-laminated single glazing
    • Double-glazed windows less than 1.2m² in area


    Good to know: These precautions must be taken to limit the risk of thermal shock, but there is no such thing as 0 risk. Also, there is no contraindication to installing a transparent film on the inside.

  • Which heat-shielding film should I choose for my skylight?

    Exterior installation is highly recommended for velux windows, as they are much more exposed to the sun. We recommend a strong, long-lasting solar film, such as GLASSplus-241x. It will soothe the heat, which is often stifling under roofs.


    If you don't have the option of installing a blind on the outside, consider installing a film blind.

  • Is there such a thing as transparent solar film?

    The most transparent heat protection film we have is 3M transparent Prestige 70 outdoor.


    In very clear films, you'll also love the transparent effect of MULTI-281x, the excellent durability of GLASSplus-242x or the elegant clear champagne look of MULTI-181i.

  • Does heat-shielding film protect against sunlight?

    Yes, indeed, metallized solar films provide protection from the sun by creating a mirror effect.

    If you're in any doubt about which part number to order for your needs, you can contact an advisor directly.

  • How do I remove my window film?

    Just pull at a gentle angle. If you have electrostatics, it's even easier.

  • Is the brightness of a room affected by mirror-effect solar film?

    Yes and no; it's a fairly subjective criterion.

    Technically, the more tinted the film, the greater the impact on room luminosity. A very light film, on the other hand, will have virtually no impact.

    On the other hand, your feeling of "loss of brightness" will depend on :

    • variations in external light
    • your visual acuity
    • your expectations in terms of brightness

    The best way to answer this question is to ask for free samples and test them on your windows! 😉

  • What is thermal shock?

    Thermal shock is a reaction that occurs when there is too great a temperature difference between the glass and the surrounding air. This can cause cracks and damage to your glass.


    Thermal shock can occur, for example, if you apply a dark tinted film to a large area of double-glazed glass on the inside. The glass will overheat, and may break.


    To avoid the risk of thermal shock, we recommend outdoor installation.
