The principle of frosting :

Thanks to its special composition, frosted film reduces glare by blurring the glass. Light can still pass through glass fitted with frosted film, but all sharp, distinct shapes are blurred. Frosted film can be total or partial, otherwise known as decorative film. With all kinds of attractive frosted patterns, it's the perfect way to add a much-appreciated decorative touch to any interior! What's more, decorative film lets more light through, but is a little less effective at blocking out viewers than total frosted film.
