Detailed description

This window film is adhesive and will protect you from the outside world and sun glare, while allowing light to pass through and keeping you visible. This film will also protect your interior with 98% UV rejection. Gold coloured film with mirror effect.

The one-way mirror window film will allow you to change a perfectly mirrored window on one side while keeping the visibility on the other side. It will allow you to protect yourself from prying eyes without losing visibility and brightness. So you can see while being invisible.

The one-way mirror film plays on the phenomenon of light balancing: in reaction to stronger light, the film becomes a reflective screen. It reflects the image on one side like a mirror while maintaining the transparency of the glass on the other side. It therefore allows you to see without being seen.

The solution provided by curtains and blinds is not always suitable for the rooms concerned and results in a significant loss of light. A one-way mirror film offers protection for all glass surfaces where natural light is to be retained without allowing inward visibility.

Highlights:
- From the outside, a perfect mirror
- From the inside, a total transparency
- Allows you to see without being seen
- No maintenance required

Durability: 10 years for vertical application in Central Europe.

Important notes: For a better view of the films, please contact us to request a free sample.
Bear in mind that the mirror effect appears on the brighter side. When night falls, the mirror effect reverses, exposing the interior to outside view. We recommend installing blinds or shutters to counteract this.
The surface to be bonded must be free from dust, grease or other contaminants. Some materials, such as polycarbonate, can cause bubbling problems. A compatibility test is therefore recommended.

This mirror film is to be applied on the inner side of your glass. If it is safe for a single pane, you can not apply it on a double pane of more than 1.2m ² at the risk of thermal shock. In case of doubt, do not hesitate to consult the technical data sheet or to contact us directly. This type of film has a silver side and a colored side.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I apply window film?

With a little patience and attention to detail, and by following the installation instructions carefully, you can install your window film yourself. For large surfaces (bay windows, for example), we recommend two people.

Find out how to apply self-adhesive films in this article.

Discover the electrostatic film installation tutorial in this article.

If you don't want to do the installation yourself, don't hesitate to ask for a quote.

  • Should metallized film be applied indoors or outdoors?

We recommend applying a metallized film to the outside of the glass. The film will be more effective, and your glass will be protected from any thermal shock.

Don't panic: our films are designed to withstand the vagaries of the weather over time.

If you cannot apply your metallized film on the outside, you can apply it on the inside in the following cases:

    • Non-laminated single glazing
    • Double-glazed windows less than 1.2m² in area

Good to know: These precautions must be taken to limit the risk of thermal shock, but there is no such thing as 0 risk. Also, there is no contraindication to installing a transparent film on the inside.

If in doubt, contact our advisors.

  • How do I remove my window film?

Just pull at a gentle angle. If you have electrostatics, it's even easier.

Here's a tutorial on how to remove adhesive window film.

You can also find out how to remove and store your electrostatic window film.

  • Does mirror-effect film protect against heat?

Yes, mirror-effect films automatically protect against heat. Protection varies according to shade. The heat protection properties of mirror effect films are given in the technical data sheet.

  • Does the mirror effect film work at night with the lights on?

No: the mirror effect always occurs on the brighter side. If it's brighter inside than outside, the mirror effect is reversed.

By the way, there's no such thing as a one-way mirror effect film that works at night with the lights on.

To find out more, visit our article "Does the one-way night mirror work?"

  • Is the brightness of a room affected by mirror-effect solar film?

Yes and no; it's a fairly subjective criterion.

Technically, the more tinted the film, the greater the impact on room luminosity. A very light film, on the other hand, will have virtually no impact.

On the other hand, your feeling of "loss of brightness" will depend on :

    • variations in external light
    • your visual acuity
    • your expectations in terms of brightness

The best way to answer this question is to ask for free samples and test them on your windows! 😉

  • Is mirror-effect film dangerous for birds?

The reflection caused by the mirror effect can actually confuse birds. For this reason, we offer anti-collision stickers. Their purpose is to warn of an obstacle, and thus change the bird's trajectory.

  • Does the color of the film affect its technical characteristics?

Yes and no. The color of the film is purely aesthetic. We would like to point out, however, that the "Silver" colors are the most effective in terms of face protection.

To see the characteristics of a film, we invite you to read its description and technical data sheet.

  • What is thermal shock?

Thermal shock is a reaction that occurs when there is too great a temperature difference between the glass and the surrounding air. This can cause cracks and damage to your glass.

Thermal shock can occur, for example, if you apply a dark tinted film to a large area of double-glazed glass on the inside. The glass will overheat, and may break.

To avoid the risk of thermal shock, we recommend outdoor installation.
