Detailed description
This solar glass filter effectively reduces the heat inside your home. It offers a good compromise between performance, rejecting 65% of solar energy, and light transmission. Thanks to the pulverization of anti-IR metal particles, this solar window filter reflects the solar energy sent by the sun's rays. As a result, it limits heat gain and regulates the temperature in your interiors.
Its medium silver tint limits the mirror effect produced by the solar filter on the glass and allows more light to pass through. The installation of this solar filter on your windows allows you to considerably reduce the heat entry inside any type of building. By covering all the glass surfaces, you can significantly reduce the greenhouse effect in the room and save on air conditioning.
In addition to thermal protection, this solar filter also corrects glare problems which are particularly annoying on digital screens (computers, tablets, TV, etc.). Note that it guarantees a good passage of light. In addition, this solar filter for windows rejects 99% of the UV rays responsible for the discoloration of furniture and premature ageing of the skin. It thus protects you from the harmful effects of the sun.
This anti-heat film is to be applied on the inner side of your glazing. If it is without risk for a single glazing, you will not be able to apply it on a double glazing of more than 1,2m² under risk of thermal shock. In case of doubt, do not hesitate to consult the technical data sheet or to contact us directly.
The application of this solar filter on your windows will improve your daily thermal comfort. You will feel better in the different spaces in which you move every day. It is the ideal solution to protect yourself from the heat in public, professional or private places. This solar filter can be placed on the windows of a commercial premises or a veranda.

What our customers say
Frequently asked questions
-
How do I apply window film?
With a little patience and attention to detail, and by following the installation instructions carefully, you can install your window film yourself. For large surfaces (bay windows, for example), we recommend two people.
Find out how to apply self-adhesive films in this article.
Discover the electrostatic film installation tutorial in this article.
If you don't want to do the installation yourself, don't hesitate to ask for a quote.
-
How many degrees can you gain with heat-shielding film?
It's very difficult to know exactly how many degrees you'll gain. Many factors come into play: the type of insulation in the house, the type of glass, the size of the panes, the surface area of the house, and so on.
In general, you can gain up to 5°C in coolness with an anti-heat film.
Our most effective film, GLASSplus-241x, rejects up to 90% of solar energy. It's an excellent heat barrier to protect your interior.
-
Should metallized film be applied indoors or outdoors?
We recommend applying a metallized film to the outside of the glass. The film will be more effective, and your glass will be protected from any thermal shock.
Don't panic: our films are designed to withstand the vagaries of the weather over time.
If you cannot apply your metallized film on the outside, you can apply it on the inside in the following cases:
- Non-laminated single glazing
- Double-glazed windows less than 1.2m² in area
Good to know: These precautions must be taken to limit the risk of thermal shock, but there is no such thing as 0 risk. Also, there is no contraindication to installing a transparent film on the inside.
If in doubt, contact our advisors.
-
Which heat-shielding film should I choose for my skylight?
Exterior installation is highly recommended for velux windows, as they are much more exposed to the sun. We recommend a strong, long-lasting solar film, such as GLASSplus-241x. It will soothe the heat, which is often stifling under roofs.
If you don't have the option of installing a blind on the outside, consider installing a film blind.
-
Is there such a thing as transparent solar film?
The most transparent heat protection film we have is 3M transparent Prestige 70 outdoor.
In very clear films, you'll also love the transparent effect of MULTI-281x, the excellent durability of GLASSplus-242x or the elegant clear champagne look of MULTI-181i.
-
Does heat-shielding film protect against sunlight?
Yes, indeed, metallized solar films provide protection from the sun by creating a mirror effect.
If you're in any doubt about which part number to order for your needs, you can contact an advisor directly.
-
How do I remove my window film?
Just pull at a gentle angle. If you have electrostatics, it's even easier.
Here's a tutorial on how to remove adhesive window film.
You can also find out how to remove and store your electrostatic window film.
-
Is the brightness of a room affected by mirror-effect solar film?
Yes and no; it's a fairly subjective criterion.
Technically, the more tinted the film, the greater the impact on room luminosity. A very light film, on the other hand, will have virtually no impact.
On the other hand, your feeling of "loss of brightness" will depend on :
- variations in external light
- your visual acuity
- your expectations in terms of brightness
The best way to answer this question is to ask for free samples and test them on your windows! 😉
-
What is thermal shock?
Thermal shock is a reaction that occurs when there is too great a temperature difference between the glass and the surrounding air. This can cause cracks and damage to your glass.
Thermal shock can occur, for example, if you apply a dark tinted film to a large area of double-glazed glass on the inside. The glass will overheat, and may break.
To avoid the risk of thermal shock, we recommend outdoor installation.
