Detailed description

This solar window film effectively improves the thermal performance of any building at low cost. By rejecting 85% of the sun's energy, it can control the temperature of a glazed room. Made of IR-resistant metal particles, this solar film reflects the sun's rays. This adhesive film is applied to the outer surface of your glass for maximum efficiency and to eliminate any risk of damaging your glass. It is therefore coated witha weatherproof surface treatment for enhanced quality. Its silver colour allows you to modernise your exterior facades thanks to its reflections.

The installation of solar film on your windows is an eco-responsible way to fight against the heat in your interiors. It limits the entry of solar radiation very effectively and allows you to make real energy savings in summer. You can considerably reduce your need for air conditioning.

The solar window film reduces glare by more than 80% by reducing excessive light flow. It filters out light while maintaining the transparency of the glass from the inside. In addition, this solar film effectively protects you from fading and other sun damage by rejecting over 99% of UV rays. This protects all objects exposed to daylight through glass from fading.

By applying a solar window film, you improve the comfort of your employees on a daily basis. Indeed, the regulation of the room temperature allows you to improve the working conditions and to be more efficient. By limiting the use of air-conditioning, you also limit the noise and the harmful effects on health. Large buildings are generally subject to these problems depending on their exposure.     In this period of heat this film made me reduce the temperature of my stairwell at least blow and in a very simple way technically. I put the filter on a small velux of 70 X 90 CM of a stairwell which was not equipped with electric blackout curtain. With my son's help, I applied the film to the outside of the velux window, following the instructions on the sheet, and the results were immediate. I immediately felt the temperature in my stairwell drop by 3 to 4°C.

  • How do I apply window film?

    With a little patience and attention to detail, and by following the installation instructions carefully, you can install your window film yourself. For large surfaces (bay windows, for example), we recommend two people.

  • How many degrees can you gain with heat-shielding film?

    It's very difficult to know exactly how many degrees you'll gain. Many factors come into play: the type of insulation in the house, the type of glass, the size of the panes, the surface area of the house, and so on.

    In general, you can gain up to 5°C in coolness with an anti-heat film.

    Our most effective film, GLASSplus-241x, rejects up to 90% of solar energy. It's an excellent heat barrier to protect your interior.

  • Should metallized film be applied indoors or outdoors?

    We recommend applying a metallized film to the outside of the glass. The film will be more effective, and your glass will be protected from any thermal shock.

    Don't panic: our films are designed to withstand the vagaries of the weather over time.


    If you cannot apply your metallized film on the outside, you can apply it on the inside in the following cases:

    • Non-laminated single glazing
    • Double-glazed windows less than 1.2m² in area


    Good to know: These precautions must be taken to limit the risk of thermal shock, but there is no such thing as 0 risk. Also, there is no contraindication to installing a transparent film on the inside.

  • Which heat-shielding film should I choose for my skylight?

    Exterior installation is highly recommended for velux windows, as they are much more exposed to the sun. We recommend a strong, long-lasting solar film, such as GLASSplus-241x. It will soothe the heat, which is often stifling under roofs.


    If you don't have the option of installing a blind on the outside, consider installing a film blind.

  • Is there such a thing as transparent solar film?

    The most transparent heat protection film we have is 3M transparent Prestige 70 outdoor.


    In very clear films, you'll also love the transparent effect of MULTI-281x, the excellent durability of GLASSplus-242x or the elegant clear champagne look of MULTI-181i.

  • Does heat-shielding film protect against sunlight?

    Yes, indeed, metallized solar films provide protection from the sun by creating a mirror effect.

    If you're in any doubt about which part number to order for your needs, you can contact an advisor directly.

  • How do I remove my window film?

    Just pull at a gentle angle. If you have electrostatics, it's even easier.

  • Is the brightness of a room affected by mirror-effect solar film?

    Yes and no; it's a fairly subjective criterion.

    Technically, the more tinted the film, the greater the impact on room luminosity. A very light film, on the other hand, will have virtually no impact.

    On the other hand, your feeling of "loss of brightness" will depend on :

    • variations in external light
    • your visual acuity
    • your expectations in terms of brightness

    The best way to answer this question is to ask for free samples and test them on your windows! 😉

  • What is thermal shock?

    Thermal shock is a reaction that occurs when there is too great a temperature difference between the glass and the surrounding air. This can cause cracks and damage to your glass.


    Thermal shock can occur, for example, if you apply a dark tinted film to a large area of double-glazed glass on the inside. The glass will overheat, and may break.


    To avoid the risk of thermal shock, we recommend outdoor installation.
