Detailed description

Acting as a true privacy breaker, this silver one-way mirror film allows you to see without being seen. The reflective properties of this privacy film turn the glass into a mirror on one side (the brightest side). On the other side, the glass remains completely transparent. This one-way mirror film allows you to modify the characteristics of your glazing to regain your privacy. It protects you from both close and distant viewers. This real anti-glare barrier is a simple and economical way to hide from the eyes of neighbours or passers-by.

The application of a one-way mirror film on your glass surfaces is also an opportunity to enhance your facade with a modern touch. In addition to guaranteeing greater discretion, this one-way mirror film protects you from UV rays and therefore from the fading of your interior. This window film is also very effective against glare. Finally, it has the ability to reduce solar radiation to reduce reflections in your home, particularly on TV screens, computers, etc. This film is not very darkening and allows a large part of the natural light to pass through.

This mirror film is to be applied on the inner side of your glass. If it is safe for a single pane, you can not apply it on a double pane of more than 1.2m ² at the risk of thermal shock. In case of doubt, do not hesitate to consult the technical data sheet or to contact us directly.

The installation of one-way mirror film is a complete solution that is suitable for any type of building: a house, a flat, offices or even commercial premises. It improves the comfort of the occupants by solving the problem of annoying views.

One-way mirror films work by means of light contrasts, i.e. the mirror is always on the side with the strongest light. Therefore, at night with the light on, the mirror effect is reversed.

Durability: 12 to 15 years for vertical application in Central Europe.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I apply window film?

With a little patience and attention to detail, and by following the installation instructions carefully, you can install your window film yourself. For large surfaces (bay windows, for example), we recommend two people.

Find out how to apply self-adhesive films in this article.

Discover the electrostatic film installation tutorial in this article.

If you don't want to do the installation yourself, don't hesitate to ask for a quote.

  • Should metallized film be applied indoors or outdoors?

We recommend applying a metallized film to the outside of the glass. The film will be more effective, and your glass will be protected from any thermal shock.

Don't panic: our films are designed to withstand the vagaries of the weather over time.

If you cannot apply your metallized film on the outside, you can apply it on the inside in the following cases:

    • Non-laminated single glazing
    • Double-glazed windows less than 1.2m² in area

Good to know: These precautions must be taken to limit the risk of thermal shock, but there is no such thing as 0 risk. Also, there is no contraindication to installing a transparent film on the inside.

If in doubt, contact our advisors.

  • What is thermal shock?

Thermal shock is a reaction that occurs when there is too great a temperature difference between the glass and the surrounding air. This can cause cracks and damage to your glass.

Thermal shock can occur, for example, if you apply a dark tinted film to a large area of double-glazed glass on the inside. The glass will overheat, and may break.

To avoid the risk of thermal shock, we recommend outdoor installation.

  • How do I remove my window film?

Just pull at a gentle angle. If you have electrostatics, it's even easier.

Here's a tutorial on how to remove adhesive window film.

You can also find out how to remove and store your electrostatic window film.

  • Does mirror-effect film protect against heat?

Yes, mirror-effect films automatically protect against heat. Protection varies according to shade. The heat protection properties of mirror effect films are given in the technical data sheet.

  • Does the mirror effect film work at night with the lights on?

No: the mirror effect always occurs on the brighter side. If it's brighter inside than outside, the mirror effect is reversed.

To find out more, visit our article "Does the one-way night mirror work?"

  • Is the brightness of a room affected by mirror-effect solar film?

Yes and no; it's a fairly subjective criterion.

Technically, the more tinted the film, the greater the impact on room luminosity. A very light film, on the other hand, will have virtually no impact.

On the other hand, your feeling of "loss of brightness" will depend on :

    • variations in external light
    • your visual acuity
    • your expectations in terms of brightness

The best way to answer this question is to ask for free samples and test them on your windows! 😉

  • Is mirror-effect film dangerous for birds?

The reflection caused by the mirror effect can actually confuse birds. For this reason, we offer anti-collision stickers. Their purpose is to warn of an obstacle, and thus change the bird's trajectory.

  • Does the color of the film affect its technical characteristics?

Yes and no. The color of the film is purely aesthetic. We would like to point out, however, that the "Silver" colors are the most effective in terms of face protection.

To see the characteristics of a film, we invite you to read its description and technical data sheet.
