How do I install one-way mirror film for windows?
Indoor or outdoor installation, make the right choice!
Now that you know exactly what mirror film is, let's move on to the next step: Installation.
First of all, themirror effect doesn't depend on the side on which you install it, but on the side where the light is strongest. Install it on the inside or outside, and you'll get the same effect ?
So how do I know which side to stick my one-way mirror film on? We explain below.
Adhesive mirror film: Interior or exterior installation?
As you probably already know, our one-way mirror films absorb and reflect the sun's rays. These rays create the mirror effect, and also absorb solar energy.
The more microparticles the film contains, the more light it will reject, and the more effective it will be. This also means that it will absorb more of the heat generated by the rays.
This is why the type of installation, inside or out, is so important when fitting mirror-effect films to windows. Incorrectly applied adhesive can cause thermal shock, which can damage the glass.

Single or double glazing less than 1.2m².
On single-glazed (non-laminated) or double-glazed units with a surface area of less than 1.2m², you can install your one-way mirror film indoors.
The structure of single-glazing allows solar energy to escape from the glazing to the outside. The risk of damaging the glazing is therefore greatly reduced. For small-area double glazing, this is also possible, as the size of the glazing protects it.

Double glazing over 1.2m² and other glazing
In the case of double glazing with a surface area greater than 1.2m², or any other type of glazing not listed above, we strongly advise you to install outside.
In fact, outdoor installationeliminates any risk of damage to glass fitted with mirror-effect film.
