How do I install one-way mirror film for windows?

How do I install one-way mirror film for windows?

Indoor or outdoor installation, make the right choice!

Let's take a quick look from the beginning: what is a mirror film? Quite simply, it's a film that lets you see without being seen, through its glazing.

On one side of the glazing, the film transforms the glass into a reflective screen. On the other, the anti-glare film provides full visibility.

Themirror effect doesn't depend on the side on which you install it, but on the side where the light is strongest. Whether you install it indoors or outdoors, you'll get the same effect.

So how do I know which side to stick my one-way mirror film on?

Adhesive mirror film: Interior or exterior installation?

Our one-way mirror films have metallic pigments inside to create this mirror effect. It's the reverberation of sunlight on these metallic micro-particles that creates the mirror effect.

What you need to know is that these pigments absorb solar energy.

The more micro-particles the film contains, the more light it rejects, and the more efficient it is. But high efficiency also means reflection of solar energy.

Follow the guide to find out which one to choose ;)

Single or double glazing less than 1.2m²-86782

Single or double glazing less than 1.2m².

On single-glazed (non-laminated) or double-glazed units with a surface area of less than 1.2m², you can install your one-way mirror film indoors.

The structure of single-glazing allows solar energy to escape from the glazing to the outside. The risk of damaging the glazing is therefore greatly reduced. For small-area double glazing, this is also possible, as the size of the glazing protects it.

MIROIR-100i one-way mirror film is our best-seller in this category. It works very well for interior installation: it creates an attractive silver mirror effect on the outside of the glass.

In the case of double glazing with a surface area greater than 1.2m², or any other type of glazing not listed above, we strongly advise you to install outside.

Outdoor installationeliminates any risk of damaging the glazing fitted with mirror effect film. MIROIR-200x mirror window film is ideal for this application.
