    Very easy to install. It looks nice from the outside. I hope the "bronze" finish will prevent birds from flying into the window (that was my concern with the mirror effect). It remains to be seen whether it actually blocks the heat and whether the film will be just as easy to install next year, after it has been removed for the first time.

    Since I have two skylights that get direct sunlight, I started looking for a skylight sunshade, because the heat in the summer is so stifling and overwhelming that it’s unbearable. I had high hopes for this product, but it really exceeded my expectations! I followed a tip I saw in a review, which was to use two films for one skylight (one film on the inside and one on the outside). And it significantly reduced the temperature! We decided to get a custom cut (which cost €20 more than a roll) because we’re short on space and weren’t comfortable with the idea of cutting the film ourselves. The films we received were perfect. Applying the films went smoothly; it requires patience and precision, but the process is well explained. A little tip: don’t install the films when the sun is beating down on the skylight, because that will create small bubbles that are impossible to remove. It’s better to do it when the skylight is in the shade (and that also prevents you from being blinded during installation!). TRUE STORY! ^^ I was also worried about how well these films—which are electrostatic—would hold up, especially in rainy weather... well, another pleasant surprise! We weathered a major storm, and the films weren’t even on the floor! So, sure, the room is a bit darker once the films are installed, but I really expected worse, especially since I applied two layers of film to one skylight. Honestly, if like me you have an attic room with a sloped ceiling that gets a lot of sun (in my case, south/southeast), this is a must-have to survive the summer and avoid moving your bedroom downstairs to sleep on the tile floor. Don’t expect the films to cool the room—they aren’t air conditioners; they’ll “just” keep it from getting too hot, and that’s already great! And on top of that, the speed of order processing and delivery is impressive: I bought four custom-cut films, and they arrived in just three days!

Detailed description

The electrostatic bronze film is a high quality product which will allow you to have an effective solar protection, punctual or not. By rejecting 85% of the sun's energy, the installation of solar film allows you to keep your interior cool. The advantage of repositionable film is that it can be installed in summer and removed in winter. In addition to offering a solution against heat, this bronze solar film protects against UV and glare. It is a complete solution for temporary or permanent sun protection.

This repositionable film also creates a one-way mirror effect. It allows you to protect yourself from the other side while still being able to see through it. Please note that this product is slightly cloudy. For extreme clarity, use the adhesive film.

Please pay particular attention to the application side of this film. The electrostatic side is always on the liner side. If you have applied the film on the wrong side, and not the electrostatic side, you may see residues on the glass. If in doubt, don't hesitate to contact us.

This solar film can also be installed on a Velux window.

Good to know: glazing with solar film installed indoors can heat up more. To avoid this risk of overheating, we recommend outdoor installation. In addition to limiting the heat on the glazing, this makes the film more effective.

  • How do I apply window film?

    With a little patience and attention to detail, and by following the installation instructions carefully, you can install your window film yourself. For large surfaces (bay windows, for example), we recommend two people.

  • How many degrees can you gain with heat-shielding film?

    It's very difficult to know exactly how many degrees you'll gain. Many factors come into play: the type of insulation in the house, the type of glass, the size of the panes, the surface area of the house, and so on.

    In general, you can gain up to 5°C in coolness with an anti-heat film.

    Our most effective film, GLASSplus-241x, rejects up to 90% of solar energy. It's an excellent heat barrier to protect your interior.

  • Should metallized film be applied indoors or outdoors?

    We recommend applying a metallized film to the outside of the glass. The film will be more effective, and your glass will be protected from any thermal shock.

    Don't panic: our films are designed to withstand the vagaries of the weather over time.


    If you cannot apply your metallized film on the outside, you can apply it on the inside in the following cases:

    • Non-laminated single glazing
    • Double-glazed windows less than 1.2m² in area


    Good to know: These precautions must be taken to limit the risk of thermal shock, but there is no such thing as 0 risk. Also, there is no contraindication to installing a transparent film on the inside.

  • Which heat-shielding film should I choose for my skylight?

    Exterior installation is highly recommended for velux windows, as they are much more exposed to the sun. We recommend a strong, long-lasting solar film, such as GLASSplus-241x. It will soothe the heat, which is often stifling under roofs.


    If you don't have the option of installing a blind on the outside, consider installing a film blind.

  • Is there such a thing as transparent solar film?

    The most transparent heat protection film we have is 3M transparent Prestige 70 outdoor.


    In very clear films, you'll also love the transparent effect of MULTI-281x, the excellent durability of GLASSplus-242x or the elegant clear champagne look of MULTI-181i.

  • Does heat-shielding film protect against sunlight?

    Yes, indeed, metallized solar films provide protection from the sun by creating a mirror effect.

    If you're in any doubt about which part number to order for your needs, you can contact an advisor directly.

  • How do I remove my window film?

    Just pull at a gentle angle. If you have electrostatics, it's even easier.

  • Is the brightness of a room affected by mirror-effect solar film?

    Yes and no; it's a fairly subjective criterion.

    Technically, the more tinted the film, the greater the impact on room luminosity. A very light film, on the other hand, will have virtually no impact.

    On the other hand, your feeling of "loss of brightness" will depend on :

    • variations in external light
    • your visual acuity
    • your expectations in terms of brightness

    The best way to answer this question is to ask for free samples and test them on your windows! 😉

  • What is thermal shock?

    Thermal shock is a reaction that occurs when there is too great a temperature difference between the glass and the surrounding air. This can cause cracks and damage to your glass.


    Thermal shock can occur, for example, if you apply a dark tinted film to a large area of double-glazed glass on the inside. The glass will overheat, and may break.


    To avoid the risk of thermal shock, we recommend outdoor installation.
